Guest Speaker: Alexander A. Miris, Special Agent in Charge, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations, Manchester, New Hampshire.
Topic: Shield America
Alex will discuss the mission of counter-proliferation investigations in preventing the illegal exportation of sensitive U.S. munitions and strategic technology to terrorists, criminal organizations and foreign adversaries, the program elements of "Shield America", and his role in combating the trafficking in Weapons of Mass Destruction, conventional weapons and controlled technology. "Shield America" is the first line of defense against those who compromise U.S. security or national interests by violating export laws, sanctions or embargoes.
Special Agent Alex Miris began his law enforcement career in 1996, in New York City with the Drug Enforcement Administration and then worked for the Department of Labor, Office of Labor Racketeering. In the late 90’s, Alex worked as a Special Agent with the U.S. Department of Treasury, U.S. Customs Service where he conducted criminal investigations involving drug smuggling, financial/money laundering and counter proliferation investigations, and IPR/Customs fraud and the repatriation of stolen cultural property, art and antiquities. Alex spent the last 16 years enforcing U.S. export controls and conducting counter proliferation investigations, including working numerous undercover sting operations involving procurement networks. Alex has taught counter proliferation investigations and exports violations courses at both Homeland Security’s Counter Proliferation Investigations School and Undercover School, as well as various Department of Defense and State Department training venues.

Place: Fratello's, Main Street, Nashua, NH
We will be ordering off the menu so everyone can select the entre of choice. Menue prices range from $14.00 to $29.00 per person plus gratuity. Drinks and beverages are also available at your choosing. Open seating.
Time: Reservations are for 6:30 pm. Please come early so we can begin placing our orders in a timely manner. We have scheduled our dinner reservations from 9:30 pm to closing time, 10:00 pm.
Oath of Office for Elected Officers: After all orders are taken, we will pause for a few minutes to administer the oath of office to the newly officers-elect.
Entertainment: We will be raffling off some mystery gifts throughout the evening.

Include in your sign-up notice the total number of persons in your party so we can provide Fratello's management a solid head count so the staff can set up tables to accommodate our group. Please sign up early. Registration is open now through November 20, 2017. We will not be able to accept any registrations after this date.
Parking: Limited parking on the street is available. We recommend you use the large City parking garage nearby. There is no cost for parking on the street or in the garage after 6 pm.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
You must cancel no later than 48 hours before the scheduled event to avoid being charged. You may cancel by emailing David Anastasi. Failure to follow the cancellation policy may result in you being billed for the event. If you have an emergency that prevents you from attending, we will work with you to (1) reimburse you, (2) credit you for a future event, or (3) you may elect to donate your fee to the Chapter fund as a Friend of the Chapter.
