Special Registration Instructions

Mercury Systems, Inc. is a cleared defense contractor, and a classified government facility.  To be granted access to the facility, please register to attend this event no later than the close of business September 4, 2018.  There are two ways to register for this event:

  • When you click on the Buy Now Button, the confirmation you receive that payment has been accepted also serves as your reservation confirmation and allows us to book your seat or seats, as appropriate, and order your meal and refreshments.  Its a one shop process.  No other action on your part is necessary.  If there is more than one individual in your party and you wish to pay using the PayPal Buy Now Button, you please select the Buy Now Button separately for each additional who will be attending.  Then, please send an e-mail to our Program Team Leader, David Anastasi, and indicate in the email the full names of the attendees and their work affiliation linked to your confirmation numbers.  Thank You!

  • When you select the Pay at Door Button, the email you generate should tell David who you are and the names of those in your party.  Receipt of your email will allow us to book your seat or seats, as appropriate, and order your meal and refreshments.  The e-mail constitutes registering for the event.  No other action on your part is necessary other than to pay at the door.  Should you desire written confirmation that we received and acted on your email, simply tell us that in your email, and David will be glad to confirm receipt of your email.  Thank you!

Please do not wait until the last minute to register.  Registering early helps us finalize logistic arrangements and the ordering of food and beverages in a timely and orderly manner.  Do it as soon as the registration period opens.  Thank you for helping us serve you better.​​​​​

​Cancellation & Refund Policy

You must cancel no later than 48 hours before the scheduled event to avoid being charged.  You may cancel  by emailing 
James Gaudet Failure to follow the cancellation policy may result in you being billed for the event.  If you have an emergency that prevents you from attending, we will work with you to (1) reimburse you, (2) credit you for a future event, or (3) you may elect to donate your fee to the Chapter fund as a Friend of the Chapter.

Upcoming Event - September 5, 2018

Guest Speaker: Thomas R. Reilly, CPP, XPO Logistics, Facility Security Officer

                                            Thomas R. Reilly, “Tom”, is currently a FSO for a supply chain warehouse serving a major aerospace

                                            defense contractor and responsible for storing and safeguarding US Government furnished

                                            equipment and materials.  Tom has over 25 years of experience in security operations.  In June 2016

                                            he retired from the United States Marine Corps as a Lieutenant Colonel.  As an infantry officer,
                                            operational planner and deployment coordinator he planned and participated in numerous training

                                            and operational deployments in peace and wartime around the world.  From July 2010 to July 2013

                                            he led a training exercise control and evaluation team of over 40 members training USMC combat

                                            arms battalions for deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan at Marine Corps Base 29 Palms CA.  The

                                            team conducted six 30-day long exercises each year that tested individual through collective unit

                                            skills in a simulated combat theater with live fire events throughout.  This experience gives him some

                                            unique insights and practical recommendations for creating and tailoring training programs for the

                                            best results possible.

Topic:  Creating an Effective Security-Training Program

Security is not the job of any one individual, but every individual in an organization contributes to an effective security program.  Is your organization’s training program giving your team members the best instruction to allow that collective security environment to be maintained?  How do you know that it is or isn’t?  What are some ways you can tailor training and assess the effectiveness of your program?

This lecture will present some ways to think about the structure and design of a training program, how to assess the effectiveness of training and present some ways to improve training programs with practical exercises.  The lecture will be interactive and include a period to discuss the techniques and methods presented.
